Sucess on Peace

The 21, September, Peace Day, the day when people join hands and work together. Our school decided that we want to contribute to peace. We decided that on the 21st we would raise money for peace.

The grade 7 global issues classes said they would forfeit their lunch time from 11:10-12:00 on Peace day. Peace day was on a Tuesday. On this day we accomplished may things, some of things were selling cookies, face painting, Making commitments, taking photos and many more. Many people said the game on the blue top was the best. It was a water balloon game, they loved it because they got the opportunity to splash Sandy Mathur, Stephen Watkins and Leo Rusch with water balloons.

I was very joyful to day because everybody else was to, they shared there happiness with me. In the 40 minutes of our action project was running it was mainly placed in room 254.(Mrs.Psillides) The atmosphere in this room was very delightful. You could experience the 5 senses in this room. You could taste those scrumptious cookies
, You could hear those vibrant and excited voices, you could smell the dripping paint from the boiling water, you could see peoples welcoming smiles and finally you could touch these smooth computers to make a commitment.

The results of this 40 minute project were massive, we changed many peoples view of peace. We also were able to raise 611RM. (184 dollars) This money will go to our teacher racing team which we will make t-shirts for when they go to Cambodia. This teacher team will raise thousands of dollars by running and they will sent to people in need. Specifically the team will send it to people who were wounded by land mines and orphan children who have AIDS.

I am very Proud of our school for putting so much effort in this project especially the teachers. As Tenzin Gyatso once said"If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for one another.
